How to make the ultimate trip and stylish too!
Firstly, pick your suitcase, I opt for a colourful one.
Secondly, pack your shoes first, at the bottom of the suitcase, then your heavy pants and clothes that don’t get wrinkled. And on top your light clothes, and the outfits you’ll be wearing on the first couple of days. Have an outfit plan ready.
Start in advance. I usually stack the clothes I’m planning to pack a couple of weeks before the trip. I make sure all the items I would like to wear are clean and ironed. I pack the nicest outfits I have – not just the shorts and t-shirt – but the matching, stylish shorts and t-shirt. I pack with intention. There could be photos, places to see, people to meet, and things to do. I usually mentally plan my outfits for each day, and pack according to my outfits, things I will be doing, and the weather. Aussies know how to do a summer holiday very well, we excel at summer holiday dressing. Wonder why! Maybe because it’s warm here and there are beaches.
I usually plan a playlist, for getting ready, and/or enjoying me time or family time. I have some key songs I would love to hear on a holiday, especially overseas, and then I seek new songs that sound new to the ears whilst on holiday. I find songs that haven’t been played back home, or that sound like I’m on holiday.
I plan to take photos – and find inspiration – either for my Pinterest board, blog, or Instagram. Inspiration is all around when you’re on a holiday! I do some research, I find some new Instagram influencers, a new culture, the whole sha-bang. I buy souvenirs. I am collecting postcards from each city and making a decorative collage of them all. An idea I had in Munich. I also like to buy the local Vogue, Instyle, or Bazaar, or even at the Aussie airport, for the plane and for relaxing on my holiday.
Happy Packing and travel to all.
